Ishan Kishan Ruled Out of Second New Zealand T20I Due to Groin Strain

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the second T20I against New Zealand due to a low-grade right adductor strain sustained during the opening match of the series. The BCCI confirmed the injury on October 23, stating that its medical team is closely monitoring his recovery.

Kishan picked up the injury during India's first T20I against New Zealand in Christchurch, where India secured a thrilling four-wicket victory while chasing a target of 226 runs. His absence is a setback for the Indian team as they look to strengthen their lead in the five-match T20I series.

With Kishan unavailable, young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could be considered for a place in India's playing XI. However, the final team selection will depend on the team's requirements and management's decision.

India will face New Zealand in the second T20I at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, on October 24. The team will hope Kishan recovers quickly and returns to action soon.
