Alana King Reclaims No. 1 Spot in ICC ODI Bowling Rankings

Australia’s star leg-spinner Alana King has once again climbed to the summit of the ICC Women’s ODI Bowling Rankings, reclaiming the No. 1 position after a brief dip.

King’s return to the top comes on the back of her outstanding performances during Australia’s recent tour of the Caribbean. The leg-spinner delivered a match-winning spell of 5/19 in the final ODI against West Indies, playing a crucial role in Australia’s dominant 3-0 series sweep.




She overtook England’s left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who had temporarily claimed the top spot. Notably, King had ended Ecclestone’s long reign at the top earlier this year before briefly slipping to second place and now reclaiming her position within days.

King finished the ODI series as one of the leading wicket-takers, showcasing consistency and control that have made her one of the most dangerous bowlers in women’s cricket. Her performances have also boosted her standing in the ODI all-rounder rankings, where she continues to rise steadily.

The Australian spinner’s rapid return to No. 1 highlights her dominance in the format and reinforces her importance to Australia’s bowling attack ahead of upcoming international tournaments.

White-ball series discussions for BCB and ACB have been planned for October 2025.

A white-ball series between the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is being discussed for October. According to Cricbuzz, the three-ODI and numerous T20I series is expected to begin in Dubai in the first half of October because both teams have international commitments in the second half of the month. Afghanistan will tour Zimbabwe at the same time, while Bangladesh will host the West Indies on their home ground for a full-fledged series.
