Deeya Yadav, Mamatha Madiwala to Miss Remainder of WPL 2026

 In a significant setback for their franchise, Deeya Yadav and Mamatha Madiwala have been ruled out of the remainder of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. The team management confirmed the development ahead of the crucial final phase of the tournament.

Deeya Yadav, who had shown flashes of brilliance with both bat and ball this season, will miss the remaining matches due to injury concerns. Her absence is expected to impact the team’s balance, especially in the middle overs where she played a key role.

Mamatha Madiwala has also been sidelined for the rest of the WPL 2026 following fitness issues. Known for her disciplined bowling and ability to build pressure, Mamatha’s unavailability comes as a blow at a time when every match carries playoff implications.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the full schedule for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, February 16. The 18th season will feature 74 matches played between March 22 and May 25 across 13 venues in India. The season will kick off with a match between the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22. The final will also be held at Eden Gardens on May 25. Qualifier 1 will be held in Hyderabad on May 20, followed by the Eliminator on May 21. Eden Gardens will host Qualifier 2 on May 23.
