Josh Inglis Confirms Wedding Plans Will Minimise His IPL Availability

Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis has confirmed that his wedding plans in early April 2026 will significantly limit his participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The IPL 2026 is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 31, and Inglis has stated he won’t be fully available due to the schedule clash with his personal commitments.

Inglis, who was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for ₹8.6 crore at the recent mini-auction, acknowledged that he won’t be available for the entire season because of his wedding. Despite this, his impressive performances — including strong batting displays in his first IPL season — kept franchises interested in him even with limited availability.

His previous IPL franchise, Punjab Kings (PBKS), publicly criticised the timing of his announcement, calling it “unprofessional” because of how close it came to key IPL roster decisions. PBKS co-owner Ness Wadia said the late notice — coming just 45 minutes before the retention deadline — was not ideal for team planning.

Inglis had informed the BCCI that he would likely be available for only a small portion of the IPL, potentially up to four matches, due to personal and international commitments, including his wedding.

This decision means that even though he remains an exciting talent, his participation in IPL 2026 will be limited — a factor that could influence how many games he actually plays and how teams plan their overseas slots.
