New Zealand star Player Kane Williamson will miss Third Test against India

Kane Williamson will miss the third Test against India, scheduled to take place in Mumbai, as confirmed by New Zealand Cricket. Williamson, who has already been absent from the first two Tests, will remain in New Zealand to continue his recovery from a groin injury. Head coach Gary Stead explained that although Williamson is showing positive signs, the decision to keep him out is a precaution to ensure he is fully fit for the upcoming home Test series against England, which begins on November 28.

Stead mentioned that the team wants to prioritize Williamson’s complete rehabilitation before the England series and avoid any risks by rushing him back for the final Test against India. The series against England is still a month away, and the management is confident that Williamson will be fully prepared to lead the side in that series.

New Zealand has already secured victories in the first two Tests against India, and with the third Test starting on Friday in Mumbai, the team will aim to sweep the series, improving their chances of reaching the World Test Championship final.
