For IPL 2025 Paras Mhambrey appointed bowling coach of Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians have added former India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey to their coaching staff for the IPL 2025 season. The franchise announced on October 16 that Mhambrey will collaborate closely with current bowling coach LasithMalinga. Mhambrey, who previously served as part of Mumbai’s coaching unit, rejoins after a successful tenure with the Indian senior men’s cricket team, including their T20 World Cup win.
Mhambrey, 52, is a highly regarded bowling coach, known for his work alongside Rahul Dravid in India’s coaching setup. His return comes shortly after Mumbai Indians appointed MahelaJayawardene as head coach for IPL 2025, replacing Mark Boucher. Jayawardene, who previously led the team to multiple IPL titles, will once again take charge of the squad.

Mhambrey’s role will involve mentoring bowlers alongside Malinga, a legendary former MI player. In a statement, Mumbai Indians emphasized Mhambrey’s familiarity with the team, recalling his contributions to their past IPL and Champions League T20 victories.
As a player, Mhambrey represented India in two Tests and three ODIs, taking a total of five wickets, and had a notable domestic career for Mumbai with 284 first-class and 111 List A wickets. His experience is expected to bolster the team’s bowling strength for the upcoming season.
