With Hilarious Reference Navjot Singh Sidhu Hails Virat Kohli’s T20 World Cup Final Knock

Former cricketer of team India, Navjot Singh Sidhu, praised the star batter of India, Virat Kohli, for his match-winning knock in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 against South Africa. Virat stepped up when it mattered the most.

He made 76 on 59 balls with six fours and two sixes after scoring just 75 runs in the competition's first seven innings. His runs came at a strike rate of 128.81. His score guided India to a target of 176/7 in their 20 overs, which India defended successfully, restricting SA to 169/8 in a thriller.

Speaking, Sidhu said of Virat, "He stood like the rock of Gibraltar in the Sea of Ruins when it mattered most, when 1.5 billion Indians were praying for victory and hoping that we did not choke at the final hurdle." When India's ship got caught, he performed to present the World Cup crown while maintaining one end intact. Sidhu stated that Virat would be regarded as an icon and the biggest influence after his T20I retirement since he never allowed the run rate to decrease during the competition.

“In this tournament, even when he scored 38 and 24, he didn’t let the run rate drop. There was a different kind of Virat. Virat Kohli is a man of adversity, a man of the masses, a master performer, and a genius. He will always be regarded by me as an icon, the greatest inspiration, and most importantly, as a source of happiness for the countless billions of cricket fans worldwide.” he said.
