Reaction of Rohit Sharma to PM Modi's “Excellence Personified” Post for Team India Captain

The victory of the Indian Cricket Team in the Caribbean was a dream come true for billions of fans of Team India. Masterminding the second victory of Team India in the shortest format of the game was Captain Rohit Sharma, who had finally ended the long wait for an ICC title in the 2024 edition of the mega event on Saturday. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the Indian cricket team after they had won the renowned trophy in Barbados. Congratulating the members on the historic T20 World Cup win, PM Modi also shared a special message for outgoing Indian skipper Rohit. PM Modi said, “Dear @ImRo45, You are excellence personified. Your combative mentality, batting, and captaincy have elevated the Indian team to new heights.

Your T20 career will be remembered fondly. I am delighted to have spoken to you earlier today.” While responding to PM Modi on X, ace cricketer Rohit thanked the Indian Prime Minister for his kind words.

"I appreciate your kind words so much, @narendramodi sir," Rohit said. The happiness the cup has brought to everyone back home has deeply touched Rohit and the squad, we are very proud to be able to bring it home," Rohit remarked.

Rohit also posted a photo of him lying flat on his back with his eyes closed after winning the World Cup for the Men in Blue. "This picture epitomizes how I'm feeling right now. I'm living the American dream right now for a billion of us.

The fast bowler of Indian cricket team Mohammed Shami has been in the news in the last few weeks. For his services to cricket, he received the Arjuna Award. He didn't play in many games, but in the ICC World Cup 2023, he was the greatest bowler. Recently, he met with the defense personnel of India and saluted them for their courage and commitment. Shami uploaded pictures of his meeting on social media. He wrote, “I am proud to be an Indian. Salvate our soldiers for their honor, courage, and commitment.” Mohammed Shami hasn’t played cricket since the World Cup due to an ankle injury.
