Mayank Agarwal Joins Durham for Short County Championship Stint

Former India opener Mayank Agarwal has signed a short-term deal with Durham and will represent the English county side in their final four County Championship matches of the 2026 season. The experienced Karnataka batter returns to county cricket after a successful stint with Yorkshire last year, where he impressed with a memorable 175 against Durham.

Durham moved quickly to secure Agarwal's services following the departure of South African batter David Bedingham for international duties. Head coach Ryan Campbell praised Agarwal's first-class credentials, expressing confidence that the Indian batter can strengthen the team's push for promotion to Division One.

Agarwal, who has played 21 Tests and five ODIs for India, remains a prolific performer in domestic cricket. The 35-year-old will be eager to make an impact in English conditions and add valuable runs for Durham during the crucial closing stages of the season.
