BCCI AGM Scheduled for September 18 in Mumbai; IPL Governing Council Elections in Focus

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially scheduled its 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) for September 18, 2026, at its headquarters in Mumbai. The decision was communicated to all state associations through a notice issued by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia.

The AGM is expected to address several key administrative and financial matters that will shape the future direction of Indian cricket. One of the major agenda items is the election and induction of two representatives from the BCCI General Body to the IPL Governing Council. Additionally, one representative from the Indian Cricketers’ Association will also be inducted into the council.

Financial matters will also take center stage, with members set to review and approve the BCCI’s audited accounts for the 2025-26 financial year and discuss the annual budget for the 2026-27 season. The meeting will further consider appointments to various committees, including cricket, umpiring, and standing committees.




Another significant topic on the agenda is the proposal to grant associate membership to the Cricket Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. If approved, the move could help expand cricket development and infrastructure in the Union Territory, bringing it closer to the national domestic cricket framework.

With crucial governance decisions, IPL council appointments, committee selections, and financial approvals on the table, the September 18 AGM is expected to be one of the most important meetings in the BCCI calendar this year.
