Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh to Miss Bangladesh ODIs
Australia have suffered a major setback ahead of their ODI series against Bangladesh, with star opener Travis Head and captain Mitchell Marsh ruled out of the three-match ODI leg of the tour.
Head has been granted personal leave and will miss the entire Bangladesh tour, while Marsh continues his recovery from an ankle injury and is not yet fit for ODI action. However, Marsh is expected to join the squad in Dhaka and prepare for the upcoming T20I series.
With Marsh unavailable, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will continue to lead Australia in the ODI series. The selectors have also called up Todd Murphy, while young talents Ollie Peake and Matt Short have been retained in the squad to strengthen Australia's options.
The absence of two of Australia's most explosive batters will test the visitors as they prepare for a challenging ODI series in Bangladesh's spin-friendly conditions.
