Urvil Onslaught Downs Inglis Blitz as CSK Secure High-Scoring Win

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) produced a thrilling chase to defeat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by five wickets in a high-scoring IPL 2026 clash, with young sensation Urvil Patel stealing the spotlight at Chepauk. Despite a breathtaking knock from Josh Inglis, whose explosive 85 off 33 balls powered LSG to a daunting 203/8, CSK responded with fearless intent and chased down the target in just 19.2 overs.

The night belonged to Urvil Patel, whose sensational 65 off just 23 deliveries turned the game on its head. Smashing eight towering sixes and reaching his fifty in only 13 balls, Urvil matched the record for the fastest IPL half-century and injected life into CSK’s playoff campaign. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad provided steady support with 42 runs, while Shivam Dube finished the chase in style with crucial late sixes.

Earlier, Josh Inglis looked unstoppable during the powerplay, tearing into CSK’s bowling attack with fearless strokeplay. However, key breakthroughs from Jamie Overton, who claimed three wickets, halted LSG’s momentum and prevented them from posting an even bigger total. Shahbaz Ahmed’s late cameo helped LSG cross the 200-run mark, but it ultimately proved insufficient against CSK’s relentless batting display.

With this victory, CSK strengthened their playoff hopes, while LSG’s campaign suffered another major setback in the race to the top four.
