Australia to Tour Pakistan for Three ODIs in May-June

Australia are set to return to Pakistan for a three-match ODI series scheduled from May 30 to June 4, marking another major chapter in the growing cricket rivalry between the two nations. The series will begin in Rawalpindi before moving to Lahore for the remaining two matches.

The Australian squad is expected to arrive in Islamabad on May 23 ahead of the opening clash at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The second and third ODIs will be played at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on June 2 and June 4 respectively.

This will be Australia’s first bilateral ODI tour of Pakistan since 2022, although the visitors were in the country earlier this year for a T20I series. Pakistan dominated that T20I contest with a 3-0 sweep in Lahore, adding extra excitement ahead of the upcoming 50-over battles.

The series could also face interesting squad dynamics as it overlaps with the closing stages of IPL 2026. Several Australian stars involved in the IPL playoffs may miss part of the tour, including uncertainty around captain Pat Cummins and other senior players.

For Pakistan, the ODI series offers a valuable opportunity to rebuild momentum after their recent ODI defeat in Bangladesh, while Australia will use the tour as preparation ahead of their Bangladesh assignment later in June.

  • May 30 – 1st ODI – Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
  • June 2 – 2nd ODI – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
