Paul Stirling Steps Down as Ireland T20I Captain Ahead of Key Fixtures

Paul Stirling has stepped down as Ireland’s T20I captain, marking a significant leadership change for Ireland cricket team in the shortest format of the game.

Stirling, one of Ireland’s most experienced and explosive batters, had taken on the captaincy role during a transitional phase for the team. Under his leadership, Ireland aimed to rebuild and stabilize their T20 squad while integrating younger players into the lineup.

In his statement, Stirling expressed pride in leading his country and emphasized his desire to focus more on his batting contributions moving forward. Cricket Ireland is expected to announce a new captain soon, with several senior players in contention for the role.

This decision comes at a crucial time as Ireland prepares for upcoming international fixtures and global T20 competitions, where strong leadership will be key to their performance.
