Pakistan’s Veteran Wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed Retires from International Cricket

Pakistan’s experienced wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed has officially announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a memorable career that spanned more than a decade. Known for his passionate leadership and sharp wicketkeeping skills, Sarfaraz played a crucial role in Pakistan cricket during his time with the national team.

One of the biggest highlights of his career came in 2017 when he captained Pakistan to a historic victory in the ICC Champions Trophy, defeating arch-rivals India in the final. Under his leadership, Pakistan also briefly reached the No.1 ranking in Test cricket.

Sarfaraz represented Pakistan in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, contributing important runs in the middle order while remaining a reliable presence behind the stumps. His fighting spirit, energetic captaincy, and memorable moments on the field made him a fan favorite.

Although he steps away from international cricket, Sarfaraz is expected to continue playing domestic and franchise cricket in the coming years.
