Jemimah Rodrigues Fined ₹12 Lakh After Slow Over-Rate

Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues has been fined ₹12 lakh by the Women’s Premier League authorities after her team was found to have maintained a slow over-rate in their WPL 2026 match against the Gujarat Giants at the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium in Vadodara.

  • The penalty was imposed under the WPL Code of Conduct for minimum over-rate offences, and this was Rodrigues’ first offence of the season.

  • Delhi Capitals lost the match by a narrow three-run margin, which has impacted their standings and slightly dented their playoff hopes.

  • With this result, Delhi slipped to fourth place on the WPL 2026 points table, making their final league game against UP Warriorz on February 1 a must-win scenario.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the full schedule for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, February 16. The 18th season will feature 74 matches played between March 22 and May 25 across 13 venues in India.
