Siraj and Gill are probably not included in the Asia Cup team.

In terms of series totals, Gill scored over 750 runs, second only to the great Sunil Gavaskar. The Asia Cup is a brief T20I competition; therefore, it makes sense that those runs occurred in five-day matches. He scored an incredible 650 runs in the IPL as well, but they were as an opener, and the selectors are probably going to continue with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson as they are.

A third opener is always welcome, and Gill’s name will undoubtedly be spoken, but Yashasvi Jaiswal is a serious candidate. With Jaiswal seemingly having the advantage, one of them is anticipated to be selected for the competition, which takes place from September 9 to 28. Unless Gautam Gambhir makes a compelling case for the Test captain, Gill appears to be behind in the race right now, while it is possible that neither is chosen.




Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rinku Singh are probably the other hitters on the team; a batting position is still up for debate. Shreyas Iyer, who led from the front for IPL finalists Punjab Kings, might not be as lucky as Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar, who are also contenders. It is expected that Jitesh Sharma will take the position of second wicketkeeper.

Jasprit Bumrah, probably the best bowler in the world, will be given the task of spearheading the attack; therefore, Siraj, the highest wicket-taker in the Anderson-Tendulkar series with a fierce performance and currently the talk of the country, might have trouble finding a spot. 

It is anticipated that Arshdeep Singh and one or both of Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana will be selected. The team will also include Hardik Pandya, who bowled the final over in the T20 World Cup. 

Mohammed Shami, a veteran seamer who was included in India’s XI in their most recent Twenty20 International match against England, is not expected to be taken into consideration.

The chosen spinners will be Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, and vice-captain Axar Patel. Washington Sundar, who was included in the previous T20I team in February, is probably going to get a spot, although it is not guaranteed.
