The BCB CEO expects all members attending the ACC meeting.
The annual general meeting of the Asian Cricket Council is set for July 24 in Dhaka, and Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam stated on Monday that he expects the presence of all members.
The political situation in Bangladesh makes it doubtful
whether India would attend the ACC AGM, and there have been rumors that the AGM
may be moved from Dhaka to Dubai.
Aminul rejected all of the rumors and maintained that
everything is proceeding according to schedule in terms of holding the ACC AGM.
We have never held a significant meeting of the Asian Cricket Council, which is
the mother body or governing body of cricket in Asia, Aminul told reporters on
Monday.
He said nearly every nation would be present at the ACC AGM
in Dhaka on July 24 and an official dinner on July 23. This is an important win
for us, and so far, everything is going as planned (in terms of hosting the ACC
meeting), he continued. You will have more updates soon.
It is known that they may be available online in the event
that no Indian give attends the ACC AGM in Dhaka. Aminul, meanwhile, maintained
that Shakib al Hasan, who has been involved in numerous legal matters, is still
qualified to play for Bangladesh.
Shakib is able to play cricket. Aminul stated he hasn't yet
retired from all of Bangladesh's formats. I'll chat with him, and once we've
had a chance to talk, we'll decide. It's been a while since I last spoke with
Shakib. Not since accepting this position (as president of BCB).
He stated that, as he has stated many times before, the
Bangladeshi team's selectors are solely accountable for Shakib's return to the
national squad. Shakib hasn't gotten in touch with me in a while. After taking
this role (as president of BCB), no. We haven't spoken to Shakib in a formal
manner. The selectors are responsible for this and will make the final choice,
I reiterate. According to him, it is my duty to manage the cricket board, not
to choose the team.
