India wants to defeat England in their first women's T20I series.

India is riding high and will try to defeat England in their first women’s Twenty20 International series when they play the hosts in the third game of a five-match series on Friday. With a record-breaking 97-run loss to England in the series opener and a 24-run victory in Bristol.

The first-ever T20I loss for the England women at the stadium, Harmanpreet Kaur and company have been in scorching form, taking a commanding 2–0 lead. India had defeated England in a single game played at Derby in 2006. Since then, the Women in Blue have lost all of their T20I series against England, both at home and abroad.

This impressive display serves as a welcome boost for India as they continue to get used to English conditions, which is an important exercise in the lead-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England next year.

The Indian unit has operated like a well-oiled machine thus far. In the first innings, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol both assisted with bats. India reached an impressive total in the second game after crucial half-centuries from Amanjot Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues saved the visitors from a dire situation.

But now the focus shifts to Shafali Verma, the powerful opener, who will be keen to make an impression. Shafali, who has returned to the team, has had difficulty getting going, scoring 20 and 3 in the series. She will be aching for a game-changing inning.

In addition, Captain Kaur, who was out for the first game due to a head injury she had during a warm-up game, will try to spend some time in the middle following her two-ball stay in the second game.

In Renuka Singh and Pooja Vastrakar’s absence, the Indian bowling attack has performed admirably.

In her first series, left-arm spinner Sree Charani has become the breakthrough sensation. With six wickets, the 20-year-old tops the wicket rankings and has the series’ best economy rate of 5.11.

The incapacity of openers Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt-Hodge to get off to a strong start has been one of the hosts’ biggest problems.

Dunkley has had some successful starts, but Wyatt-Hodge has scored 18 runs in five innings this summer, including three straight ducks. Additionally, their bowling has been subpar.
