Glenn Phillips Suffers Freak Groin Injury During SRH vs GT Match

In a dramatic turn of events during the IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT), substitute fielder Glenn Phillips suffered a freak injury. The incident occurred in the sixth over when Phillips, known for his exceptional fielding skills, charged in to field a shot by Ishan Kishan off Prasidh Krishna. As he threw the ball, he immediately fell to the ground in pain, indicating a possible groin injury.

Phillips, who was not part of the starting XI for GT, was seen hobbling off the field, requiring support from his teammates. The injury appears to be a groin strain, although official confirmation is awaited. This setback could be concerning for GT, especially with Kagiso Rabada unavailable due to personal reasons.

Phillips’ fielding prowess has been a highlight of his career, with numerous impressive catches and run-outs. His injury will be closely monitored by GT, who are currently in strong form with two wins from three matches.
