As per report Rahane emerged as the strong contender to lead KKR in IPL 2025

Ajinkya Rahane is emerging as the frontrunner to captain Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2025, following the release of Shreyas Iyer. Reports indicate that it is “90% confirmed” that Rahane will take on this leadership role, as KKR specifically acquired him during the auction for this purpose at a base price of ₹1.5 crore14. 

Rahane, known for his calm demeanor and extensive experience, has previously captained the Rajasthan Royals and has been performing well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring back-to-back half-centuries.




While Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh are also in contention, Rahane’s leadership skills and recent form make him a strong candidate to lead KKR as they aim to defend their title after a successful IPL 2024 season 35. The final decision is highly anticipated by fans as KKR prepares for another competitive season.
