Rohit Sharma offers support from dressing room, rejoins Team India

Rohit Sharma rejoined Team India on the fourth day of the IND vs. AUS first Test in Perth after missing the initial match due to the birth of his second child. While he was in Mumbai with his wife, RitikaSajdeh, and daughter, Samaira, Rohit prioritized family before flying to Australia. He arrived in Perth on November 24 and was seen in the dressing room alongside head coach GautamGambhir, providing insights as India dominated the match.

Rohit’s return came at a crucial time, as Jasprit Bumrah had been leading the team in his absence. With Rohit back, he resumed captaincy duties while Bumrah returned to his role as vice captain. Despite Rohit’s late arrival, India maintained a commanding lead of over 400 runs against Australia.




As preparations continue for the second Test in Adelaide starting December 6, Rohit is set to participate in a two-day practice match to regain match fitness. The team faces a dilemma regarding batting order since KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal both performed exceptionally well in Perth. Rohit’s last Test appearance was against New Zealand in 2023, and he hopes this series will provide a boost for India in their quest for the World Test Championship.
