Before everyone else Virat Kohli reaches Perth for 1st Border-Gavaskar Test

Former India captain Virat Kohli arrived in Perth on Sunday evening, ahead of his teammates, as preparations ramp up for the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy series starting November 22. Kohli was seen at Mumbai airport on Saturday with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their children. A video of his departure went viral, where he requested paparazzi not to photograph his kids.

Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounds the availability of current captain Rohit Sharma, who is expected to miss the first Test due to the impending birth of his second child. Head coach GautamGambhir remained tight-lipped about Rohit’s status during a recent press conference, stating that a decision would be made closer to the match. If Rohit is unavailable, JaspritBumrah will lead the team as vice-captain.

India’s recent form has raised concerns, following a 0–3 ODI series loss to New Zealand and previous defeats in Sri Lanka. As Kohli seeks to regain his form after a disappointing series, the team aims to bounce back against Australia in what promises to be a challenging series.
