Contender who are in mix to replace Jay Shah as the next BCCI secretary

Speculation intensified regarding Jay Shah’s successor as BCCI Secretary, with several prominent candidates emerging. Rohan Jaitley, the current president of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and son of the late Arun Jaitley, is seen as a frontrunner due to his administrative experience and connections within the BCCI.

Ashish Shelar, a senior BJP leader and current BCCI Treasurer, is another strong contender, leveraging his political influence and cricket administration background.

DevajitSaikia, currently serving as BCCI Joint Secretary, is considered a dark horse for the position, while Anil Patel, secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association, also remains in contention.

Arun Dhumal, IPL Chairman, could be a strategic choice given his extensive experience in cricket management. The decision is crucial as Shah prepares to transition to the ICC Chairmanship, with the BCCI needing to finalize its leadership before December 1, 2024.
