For the LA28 Olympics, England and Scotland are to join forces as Great Britain.

In the LA 2028 Olympics, cricket is going to get included at the mega event. Each board is eager to send their best cricket team, and there is no exception for England. On the other hand, a union between Cricket Scotland and the English Cricket Board (ECB) is planned under Great Britain.

The rules for qualification Is yet to be revealed. But if England manages to qualify, they will play under the banner of Great Britain. And this opens the possibility of joining forces with Scotland. Star Scottish players are eligible to compete in the event with the English players representing Great Britain. Not only will the change affect men's cricket, but it will also affect the women's cricket squad.

The ECB and Cricket Scotland, the two cricketing bodies, have begun their initial discussions about the issue. Support staff workers from Scotland are expected to work as a cohesive one, not simply with players.

It's early days, with the Olympics in Los Angeles four years away, but we're discussing the next steps with Cricket Scotland and Team GB, an ECB spokeswoman stated. Both the respective cricketing bodies of ECB and Cricket Scotland have started their preliminary talks on the matter. Not just with players, Scottish members of the support staff are also expected to be part of the entire unit.

"It's very early stages, but we're talking to Team GB and Cricket Scotland about the next steps we need to take," an ECB representative stated. The Olympics are in Los Angeles in four years. The speaker continued, "It's another great opportunity to grow the game and inspire more people to develop a love for cricket, along with England and Wales hosting the Women's and Men's T20 World Cups in 2026 and 2030."
