Rahul Dravid wants India to strike gold in the Olympics. After T20 World Cup win, craves for cricket’s inclusion
Former head coach of India cricket team Rahul Dravid is very excited about the prospects of cricket’s potential inclusion in the 2028 Olympics. Noting that the Summer Games are among the biggest sporting events in the world, Dravid hoped that both the India men’s and women’s teams will win gold medals if the sport is included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Dravid was a part of the programme organised at the first-ever India House in Paris. Coming fresh off a T20 World Cup win in the USA, Dravid batted for the sport’s inclusion in the Olympics, noting that it enjoyed a huge fan following.
Dravid continued, joking that he would even think about becoming a TV personality, and he would try to be a member of the Indian team in 2028 for the Olympics in Los Angeles. “The dream for me is to have a fantastic cricket tournament, hopefully Indian men and women winning the gold, which would be nice,” Dravid said.
Dravid went on to claim that Cricket would be a star attraction in the USA very soon, citing jam-packed stadiums for some of the T20 World Cup games. He stated that he could sense cricket gaining popularity in Paris and that it was beginning to spread throughout the world of sports. Dravid expressed his desire for cricket to be a part of the Olympics, noting that it would be a dream come true moment.
