In the ICC T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka beat Netherlands by 83 runs

The amazing knocks by KusalMendis and CharithAsalanka, followed by the equal contributions from the entire bowling unit of the Sri Lanka cricket team, helped them defeat the Netherlands by a huge margin of 83 runs in their T20 World Cup 2024, Group D match. 

While chasing the target of 202 runs, the Netherlands cricket team started the proceedings on a good note, but the bowlers of Sri Lanka quickly bounced back and wrapped them up for 118. For Sri Lanka, NuwanThushara took three wickets, while captain WaninduHasaranga and Matheesha Pathirana took two wickets each.

Apart from them, MaheeshTheekshana and DasunShanaka also took one wicket each. As Bangladesh defeated Nepal and entered the Super 8 stage, the Netherlands cricket team got knocked out of the race to the Super 8 stage.

Mohammed Shami, with Indian soldiers, says, “I am proud to be an Indian.”

The fast bowler of Indian cricket team Mohammed Shami has been in the news in the last few weeks. For his services to cricket, he received the Arjuna Award. He didn't play in many games, but in the ICC World Cup 2023, he was the greatest bowler. Recently, he met with the defense personnel of India and saluted them for their courage and commitment. Shami uploaded pictures of his meeting on social media. He wrote, “I am proud to be an Indian. Salvate our soldiers for their honor, courage, and commitment.” Mohammed Shami hasn’t played cricket since the World Cup due to an ankle injury. He was initially named in the two-match series against South Africa but was ruled out at the last moment. The veteran pacer was also not part of the first two Test matches against England.
