After four years, BCCI allows Afghanistan to play ‘home’ matches in India again

In order to strengthen the cricket ties between India and the Afghanistan cricket team, the BCCI has granted permission for the Afghanistan cricket team to host its upcoming series against Bangladesh in India. Afghanistan will now play its "home" matches at the Shahid Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, where they were last played four years ago.

The white ball series is scheduled to be held in the months of July and August, where Bangladesh is going to face Afghanistan in three ODI and three T20 international matches. This is not the first time Team Afghanistan has called Greater Noida home. Afghanistan was granted permission under a memorandum of understanding to use this location for their matches back in 2015.

In order to have practice sessions prior to their first ODI on July 25, the Bangladeshi team is scheduled to arrive in Greater Noida on July 22. The 27th and 30th of July will bring the remaining ODIs. August 2 is the start date of the Twenty20 International series, while August 6 is the date of the last game.

Bangladesh will then depart on August 7th. As per the report, BCCI has designated two venues in Uttar Pradesh for Afghanistan’s “home” series: Greater Noida and Kanpur. This carries on a pattern started in 2015 when Afghanistan contested matches in Greater Noida, Lucknow, and Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
