Jay Shah says Ajit Agarkar dropped Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the BCCI contract list

The Board of Control for Cricket in India had drafted new player contracts a few months prior. There were two notable names missing from the new contracts: Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar made the decision to remove the two from the list of retainers, as BCCI secretary Jay Shah has now revealed.

Their inability to play domestic cricket was the primary factor in this severe decision. Iyer sustained an injury following the second IND vs. ENG test, while Ishan Kishan had left the Indian squad to take a break. To everyone's surprise, however, the pair chose to defy Jay Shah and Rahul Dravid's directives to not participate for the Ranji Trophy.

Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are two players who did not play domestic cricket, but it was Ajit Agarkar's choice to remove them from the central contract list. All I have to do is execute. Sanju Samson is one of the new guys we have on the team. No one is necessary, according to Shah.

The fast bowler of Indian cricket team Mohammed Shami has been in the news in the last few weeks. For his services to cricket, he received the Arjuna Award. He didn't play in many games, but in the ICC World Cup 2023, he was the greatest bowler. Recently, he met with the defense personnel of India and saluted them for their courage and commitment. Shami uploaded pictures of his meeting on social media. He wrote, “I am proud to be an Indian. Salvate our soldiers for their honor, courage, and commitment.” Mohammed Shami hasn’t played cricket since the World Cup due to an ankle injury.
