Over pacer’s unexplored ‘armory’ Steve Smith fires a warning to IPL sides

Mayank Yadav, who is 21 years old, has set the cricket world buzzing with his fiery 150+ kmph deliveries. After just two games, the LSG pacer already holds the record for bowling the most 155+ kmph deliveries in IPL 2024. Steve Smith doesn’t think that teams should be worried only about his fiery pace. Steve Smith said, “If you look at all those balls, there wasn’t one slower ball there, so you don’t have to worry about that at this stage. He might have it in his armory; we haven’t seen it yet, but you can probably trust him to get inside the line or maybe give a bit of room, use the pace, and let it come to you.

The fact that he just finished his first game impressed me. He will undoubtedly be the subject of a lot of buzz, as many players have strong performances followed by poor performances.

But he’s come straight back in, bowling like an absolute genius. So, Mayank Yadav, remember the name.”

Mayank Yadav achieved a record-breaking accomplishment in the history of the IPL by winning "Player of the Match" twice in a row in just his second IPL outing. He destroyed the renowned RCB batting lineup, giving up just 14 runs in his four overs while quickly dismissing Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green.
